This refers to grouping various products together for sale or delivery. Imagine a gift basket containing different items like chocolates, cookies, and a teddy bear. In Odoo, you can define such a collection of products as a package.

Packages:

Odoo allows creating packages during transfers like deliveries.
In the transfer document, click on the Detailed Operations icon for a product line.
Alternatively, use the Put in Pack button to include all products in the transfer into a package.
A pop-up window will appear. Click Add a line and select the destination package. You can choose an existing one or create a new one by entering a name and clicking Create.
Specify the quantity of each product going into the package and click Confirm to save.pen_spark
eg:

Imagine we have three existing products in Odoo:

Box of Chocolates (10pcs) – This is the main product we’ll include in the package.
Teddy Bear (small)
Greeting Card (Happy Birthday)
We want to create a package called “Birthday Chocolate Cheer” that includes:

1 Box of Chocolates (10pcs)
1 Teddy Bear (small)
1 Greeting Card (Happy Birthday)
Here’s how we can achieve this:

Creating the Package:

Go to the Inventory app. You might not see a dedicated Packages section, but packages are often created during transfers.

Let’s initiate a Delivery transfer document.

Add the three products (Box of Chocolates, Teddy Bear, Greeting Card) to the delivery lines.

When adding a product line (e.g., Box of Chocolates), you might see a button like Detailed Operations or Put in Pack. Click on it.

In the pop-up window, click Add a line.

Instead of selecting an existing product, choose the option to Create a new package. Enter the name “Birthday Chocolate Cheer” and click Create.

Back in the package line, specify the quantity of each product going into the package (e.g., Qty: 1 for each product).

Click Confirm to save the package.

Now, during this delivery, Odoo will not only deliver the three individual items, but it will also recognize them as part of the “Birthday Chocolate Cheer” package. This can be helpful for tracking purposes or even creating labels for the package itself.

Hi, very interesting. I have a question based on your example. You have a receive of 100 hammers, and you place all of them in the same package pressing a single button. If I want to put 50 of them in a package and the remaining in another, what I have to do?
