A rescue session in Odoo is a handy feature in the Point of Sale (POS) module that helps you recover data from interrupted sessions. It comes into play in two main scenarios:
Lost internet connection: If your internet connection drops while you’re working on a POS session, Odoo will save the order data in your browser’s cache. Once the connection is restored, you can initiate a synchronization process. This will trigger Odoo to create a rescue session with all the unsynced orders from the interrupted session.
Accidentally closed session: Even if you accidentally close the POS session while online, Odoo creates a rescue session to preserve the data. The original session will be marked as “closed & posted” in the backend, while the rescue session takes over as a new session with a unique ID.
