We can send periodic status emails from Odoo ERP automatically using Odoo digest.
It is possible to configure the frequency of emails and the contents of the email.
How To configure digest emails?
go to Settings- General Settings-Digest Email
Here you can enable digest email under which you can see a field Digest Email where it is possible to select a template for sending periodic emails. New users will be automatically added as the recipients of the digest emails. Now, below that, you can see an option Configure Digest Emails. When you click on it you will be redirected to a new page to create and configure Digest Emails. We already have a default one that is ‘Weekly Status in Odoo’.So without changing that let us create a new one:
Click on the Create button which opens a new page Where you have to provide the following details:
Name for the Digest Email
Periodicity-Frequency at which mail need to be sent. It can be monthly, weekly, or yearly
Next Send Date-On which date the email will be sent next
Under KPIs we can choose the information that needs to be shown ie. general reporting information including General information like connected users, Point of sale, Open tasks in Project, Employees in Recruitment, Tickets closed in Help desk, Leads or opportunities related report from CRM, Invoicing details, Sales including eCommerce sales.
Under Recipients, you can add recipients of the email. By clicking the add line new recipients can be added which also shows the corresponding email of the user.
Above you can also see some buttons ie. subscribe, Deactivate for everyone, Send now
When the subscribe button is clicked the current user will be subscribed to receive emails from and you can see automatically this user will be added to the recipient’s list. Users can also unsubscribe by clicking Unsubscribe me.
If Deactivate for everyone is clicked then everyone will be unsubscribed and disabled from receiving emails from this template. This option is available for admin only.
If Send now is clicked then relevant data can be sent now to subscribed users
On the right side, you can also two status ie. Activated and Deactivated
After configuring the digest email when you go back to settings you can see in the digest email field it is possible to select the newly created digest email.
